The above image captures life through the eyes of a subway rider on his or her daily commute to work. Your commute may be different. Your commute may consist of driving; or it may not involve ever leaving the house. Either way, our “commute” to get to where we want or need to be for the day is a daily test for all of us. We all likely question daily whether we want to continue doing what we are doing or whether we are even on the right path or the right person for the job.
Our “commute”; our path to accomplishing something may be easy or comfortable for us or it may be extremely difficult; almost impossible seeming. It may be quite similar to the way Jesus carried His cross and wore his “thorny” crown. Jesus wanted to accomplish something, mainly to build up those around him spiritually as he tested his own faith and spirituality. Jesus, to prove that he was not a typical man, needed to get through the most treacherous of paths. A path that was riddled with accusers, attackers, mockers, abusers, and all those testing his patience, faith and and even his own strength. Though Jesus was tempted to give up many times, he turned his weakness into his strengths.
2 Corinthians 12:7-10 states: “I was given a physical condition which has been a thorn in my flesh, a messenger from Satan to hurt and bother me and prick my pride…Since I know it is all for Christ’s good, I am quite happy about “the thorn”, and about insults and hardships, persecutions and difficulties; for when I am weak, then I am strong-the less I have, the more I depend on him”.
We can all inspire to transform our weaknesses, or what we see as handicaps in others around us, into love for self and even more love for others; opportunity to hear and listen more from the heart; faith in more than only what is seen, but faith in also what is felt; helpful and kind acts toward self and others and use weaknesses as ways to better connect and understand each other instead of alienating and judging each other.
2 Corinthians 12:8-9 states: “Three different times I begged God to make me well again. Each time he said, “No. But I am with you; that is all you need. My power shows up best in weak people.”

Despite your burdens, continue to do your daily chores with exceptional love. A love that brings you closer to God. Deuteronomy 6:5 says: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. Matthew 22:37 says: You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. Titus 3:14 says: For our people must learn to help all who need their assistance, that their lives will be fruitful.
